Frankfurt am Main – October 2022 – COMMEO has advised Fraport AG on the establishment of a joint venture (“FraAlliance”) with Deutsche Lufthansa, in which Fraport and Lufthansa each hold a 50% stake.
With FraAlliance, the two companies intend to cooperate even more intensively in the future in order to optimize airport services and other services for passengers at Frankfurt Airport. In particular, the long-standing cooperation between the airport operator and the “hub” airline is to be developed further with regard to services in Terminal 1 at Frankfurt Airport with the aim of further enhancing product and service quality at Frankfurt Airport.
The project was notified under merger control rules in Germany, Poland and Saudi Arabia. COMMEO handled the merger control proceedings in Germany and coordinated the proceedings in Poland and Saudi Arabia.
