COMMEO founding partner Dr Jörg-Martin Schultze retires
Frankfurt am Main – It is with a smile and a tear in our eye that we say goodbye to our esteemed founding partner Jörg-Martin Schultze, who took his well-deserved retirement on 1 January 2025.
Jörg-Martin Schultze is not only an excellent competition law expert and strategist for us, but also a long-standing companion and inspiring mentor. His dedicated commitment laid the foundation for the success and continuous development of COMMEO.
Jörg-Martin Schultze has supported and advised his clients both in and out of court in all aspects of competition law and has always been held in high esteem by clients and colleagues. Integrity, professional brilliance and a trusting relationship formed the cornerstones of his work and still characterise the firm’s culture today. His passion for publishing has also left its mark on our firm: in particular, as the initiator and co-author of the commentary on the Vertical Block Exemption Regulation, he will continue to shape discussions on distribution competition law even after his retirement, with the 5th edition now about to be published.
We look back on the years we spent together with Jörg-Martin Schultze with sincere gratitude and great appreciation. We have made it our goal to build on the foundations we laid together with him and to continue on our successful path as a leading German competition law boutique. We wish Jörg-Martin Schultze good health, happiness and exciting new challenges in this new phase of his life. We wish his future chess opponents at the planned national and international tournaments good nerves and look forward to regular reports on his rise in the chess rankings.
